Making cardamom essential oil

Calendula is super easy. Cardamom is harder, but I'm gonna do it!

In order for this to be effective, it needs to boil into the air and not in a covered crock pot. It really needs to boil and boil and boil. The double crock pot that I bought just for this doesn't seem to be getting hot enough to actually boil off. I know my food crockpot does, but I'm bummed. I'm going to leave the lid off for as long as I can to see if that starts it boiling down.
